Do you really hate cooking? Or is it more about the fact that you don't know how? This is a mindset issue, not a skill issue. I cover mindset change in the course to tackle these limiting beliefs. First mindset lesson right now. Growth is about learning and doing new things. Don't you admire people that can create delicious meals for family and friends? Is this not a skill that would greatly benefit you, not to mention bring you closer to the people you love? Don't fear cooking, embrace it, it gets easier. You just need to try!
I get it. But grocery shopping is not a big deal. It is like starting a new job. You have no idea what you are doing at first, but after a few months, it is old hat. It gets easier, it will not always be overwhelming. Are you really willing to give up your health because a grocery store overwhelms you? I would much rather tackle a grocery store than a chronic disease.
This is a tough one. I find it with many of my married clients. Husbands can be such a pain in the butt, and many can sabotage efforts to bring a healthier lifestyle into the home. All I can say is this. The way we eat and live in this country is making us terribly sick and fat. It is VERY expensive to be sick, not to mention what it costs from a quality of life perspective. And you cannot escape a bad diet. It WILL catch up to you. Genetics may load the gun but lifestyle pulls the trigger. Your husband is resistant based on his beliefs, and how he grew up. If you let his way of living rule, your kid's will most likely adopt the same way of living, eating and thinking. I ask you this, are your in-laws healthy people? Chances are your husband will follow their lead, but worse, because our food is more toxic than it was for his parents' generation. And right now, this generation of children (our kids!) is predicted to be the first to live shorter lives than their parents. And you can bet that their quality of life will suffer more too. Right now, one in every three children born after the year 2000 is predicted to develop diabetes. I can honestly say that my children will not be a statistic because they know that how they eat and live determines their health, and they are empowered with this knowledge. They will take responsibility for their health and life, because I DO. I suggest taking the course, and taking charge of your life. I suggest being compassionate with your family, but making it very clear that this is important. "Be the change you wish to see in the world." As you make change, your kids will see you happier and healthier. This is powerful for them to see. Health is life. I recommend a number of documentaries in this course, and you can watch them with your family. Neither of us can make someone want to change, we can only inspire change by making the change within ourselves. Our Facebook group page will be a good support system for you, as I will be on there regularly, and others will undoubtedly be tackling the same issues. .

First major point. Have you priced chronic disease lately?
