Cooking & Connecting Club
After 14 successful Healthy Life Clubs, I wanted to create new options for all. I've heard your recommendations and designed a club with no homework, and no expectations. This is a club where we just cook and connect! I know you're busy, but I also know you want to bring healthier meal ideas into your home. I know you want to connect with interesting people. So, I am offering what people love best about HLC and that is the food and the community!
Here is what that looks like.
Each group will meet once a week for 2 hours (from 11-1pm for day classes) for 5 weeks. There will be no more than 6 women in each group to allow for connection and engagement. We will cook a plant based meal while we chat. You can just watch me, or you can take part in the process. I understand that your biggest cooking obstacle is overwhelm, and the unknown. To see something prepared is to remove the fear. To taste something fantastic, is to understand that it is worth the effort. I will focus on recipes that are delicious and nutritious and fully plant based (vegetarian) because we all need more plants in our lives. This is a great group for HLC graduates, as well as for anyone just looking for more cooking instruction, meal ideas, and connection with new friends!

I am a learner. I am a transformer. I am a teacher of all things healthy. I love plant based food, cooking and the planet. I am a writer and a deep thinker. I am not afraid to be wrong or not know things. In fact, the more I learn, the more I realize I don't know. I don't like labels. I believe our emotional state tells everything about us. I love to learn from people who are both sciencey and spiritual. My mission in life is to help people change their lives. In order to understand human and environmental health and the science behind behavior change, I have studied neuroscience, ecology, biology, and even a little quantum physics. I am fascinated by the human mind. I believe all that ails our society is resistance to changing ourselves. Our egos/identities rule our world, and our happiness depends on us letting them go, and growing out of our old self. I read all of the time, but the book that helped me understand why some people change and others don't is called Mindset, by Carol Dweck, PhD. I love change. I love this quote "Transformation is the journey of discovery" because that is the most accurate description of change. Change requires curiosity and discovery about ourselves and the world, and it is a remarkable journey indeed.
