I have the weight loss secret.  Studies show that only 5% of us lose weight AND keep it off, for good.  I am thrilled to say that after spending 39 years on Team 95%, I am now a proud member of Team 5%, 6 years running.  And I have NO fear of ever going back, in fact, it is not possible for me anymore.  I am no longer a chronic dieter, I am a healthy eater, and I LOVE it.

I went on my first diet when I was seventeen.  I was a cohost/MC of our senior class Lip Sync Fundraising Contest.  My friend, Jon, and I performed as Donny & Marie, opening the show with “It’s a Little Bit Country, It’s a Little Bit Rock n Roll,” and closing the show with “May Tomorrow be a Perfect Day.”  In between, four of my friends and I performed the Jackson Five’s “ABC.”  It was such a fun night.

About a week later, our class President, Dave, and I were counting our fundraising cash, and watching the Lip Sync on a VHS cassette tape.  When I saw myself on screen, I literally gasped and said “I look SO fat!”  Dave, responded “You are fat.”  (now before you get all mad at Dave, understand that even at that young, fragile age, I did not believe that he was trying to hurt my feelings.  Dave was just a “say it like it is” type guy.  Had he lied, and said “Oh Cindy, you are not fat,” just to spare my feelings, he may have let me off the hook.  But instead, his honesty, made me face reality.)

The next day, I started Richard Simmon’s Deal-A-Meal diet.  I lost about 12 pounds in 4 weeks, literally eating the same thing every day.  It was regimented, it was routine, it was lonely, it was bland, it was boring.  Most of all, it was unsustainable.  After four weeks, I looked and felt great.  That is…..

until I went off the diet.

Then I binged, oh how I binged!  I ate half a cake, 12 croissants at a brunch, countless cookies, etc.  Suddenly, I was able to eat more food at one time, than I ever had before.  That diet created something in me that never existed, and it was not a good thing.  I remember going on long runs with a friend on my track team, and talking about how I would eat so much, and then want to throw up.  I remember trying to put my finger down my throat.  Luckily, I never succeeded…

I was a yo-yo dieter for years.  I was also an exercise-aholic, I used running to burn calories in hopes of working off all that I ate.  I fell for all the fad diets, did Weight Watchers, bought into all the ridiculous “nutrition advice” like eating no fat Snackwells, drinking diet sodas, and using artificial sweeteners.

My weight went up and down like a see-saw.  The only things that were consistent in my body were my migraines, IBS, chronic sinus infections and allergies.

Then one day, after taking two weight loss courses at at reputable institute in the Dallas area, everything changed.  You see, I learned nothing from those two courses, they affirmed all I thought I knew about food and weight loss.  These 3 tenets of weight loss have stood for years, they are 1.  weight loss is a simple calculation of calories in vs. calories burned, 2.  all calories are created equal, and 3.  all food is okay in “moderation.”  The weight loss industry is a 61 BILLION dollar industry, yet, as a society, we continue to get heavier and sicker every year.  So, for the first time in my life, I questioned conventional thought about weight loss.  This questioning led me down a different path, and my focus became HEALTH.  I researched, I read books, I went to school, and with a clear and open mind, I finally discovered the secret.

“You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it.”  Albert Einstein

When my mind changed, my life changed.  I lost weight without counting calories, without dieting, and without a scale.  I lost weight without depriving myself, starving, or disengaging from my life.  In fact, I did the opposite, I nourished my body, I engaged in a healthy lifestyle, and I loved every minute of it.

But the best part was that I changed the way I fed my family, AND all those chronic health conditions disappeared.  I also stopped a 20 plus year battle with food, dieting, and poor body image.

So, here is the thing, if you find yourself an avid member of Team 95%, stop and look around.  Notice what has happened to you over the years, notice how diets affect your life, and never work.  Use your mind, and think differently, the proof stares us in the face every day.  Yet we continue to follow the same old bad advice. Conventional dieting principals do not work, they never have, and they never will.

My programs are innovative, non-conventional, forward thinking and guaranteed to be different than anything you have tried before.  I attract people who want to learn and grow.  I attract clients who want to be their best; moms who want to raise healthy kids; women who have the confidence to take a path less traveled; people who do not let their fears hold them back; women who are ready, willing and able to change their lives, for good.  This is not just about weight loss, this is about changing your mind and your life too.

If this sounds like something you would like to engage in, please feel free to contact me anytime.  It is my mission and passion to help people like you become the best you can be.
